I started swimming with Ravensong Breakers when I was 8 years old.  Growing up, our family was all very involved with the club, both parents were on the executive and most weekends the family travelled together to swim meets. As an age grouper, swimming with Ravensong, I won a number of Provincial and Junior National medals. Since then, I have been attending UBC, just recently completing a degree in Environment and Sustainability. Through this path I have been successful at a international level, making a number of National Teams, winning CIS swimmer of the year, as well as winning National titles. My highest achievements have been a 4th place finish in 50 butterfly at World University Games in 2013 setting a Canadian record. I owe much of my success in and out of the pool to the Ravensong Aquatic club. John Campbell was a very motivational coach and mentor, whom I have remained close with to this day. Swimming has allowed me to travel the world, pursue a world class education and learn valuable life skills that will stay with me the rest of my life. All of this would not have been possible without the role and support that the Ravensong Breakers has provided.

I joined Coach John Campbell and Ravensong back in 2006 after moving to Vancouver Island from Alberta and as a swimmer it was a fantastic decision for me and I never looked back. John is not only a great and knowledgeable coach but he gave me the confidence and motivation I needed and I improved in leaps and bounds. Some of my highlights were representing Team BC at many camps and meets including Canada Summer Games 2009 where I won Silver in the 200 free and a bronze medal with Team BC in the relay. I took part at the Olympic and World trials during my time at Ravensong and after graduating I was accepted into UBC where I swam for the UBC Thunderbirds for 5 years. John is and will remain one of my good friends and mentors.
